Basic First Aid

Immediate initial care provided to individuals who have been injured or suddenly taken ill, aiming to stabilize the condition in a prehospital setting, until advanced medical help arrives.

Wound Assessment & Dressing

Evaluation of wounds to determine their severity and appropriate treatment, followed by cleaning, disinfection, and dressing to promote healing and prevent infection.

Recognizing & Managing Catastrophic Hemorrhages

Identification and immediate intervention for severe bleeding, employing techniques like direct pressure, wound packing using hemostatic agents, as well as the use of tourniquets to control bleeding and stabilize the patient.

Evaluating Musculoskeletal Injuries

Assessment of injuries affecting the bones, muscles, joints, and connective tissues, followed by recommendations for treatment, including immobilization through splinting and kinesiology taping and pain management.

Prepping Intravenous Fluids & IV Catheter Placement

Preparation of equipment in a stepwise and sterile manner, allowing for the safe insertion of an IV catheter, and administration of intravenous fluids to maintain hydration and deliver medications.

Evaluation of Hypo-/Hyperthermia

Assessment and management of abnormally low (hypothermia) or high (hyperthermia) body temperatures, including interventions to normalize body temperature and prevent complications.

Basic Burn Management

Initial assessment and treatment of burns, including cooling, cleaning, and dressing the affected area, and providing pain relief and guidance on wound care and potential complications.
